Safeguarding

The Harbour School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and all staff, volunteers and the Governing Body share this commitment and always act in the interests of the child.

The Harbour School aims to:
  • Prioritise the safety and welfare of children and young people.
  • Provide an environment where children feel safe, secure, supported, valued, and able to talk and are listened to.
  • Provide opportunities for children to develop the skills they need to recognise risk and stay safe from harm and healthy (including e-safety, exploitation, radicalisation, abuse and female genital mutilation).
  • Contribute to early help and inter-agency plans working in partnership with external agencies to support the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ensure that safer recruitment checks are carried out on all staff and Governors in line with statutory requirements.
